The ICT Department is considered to be very active and friendly and has fostered a culture of support and teamwork.
The department has been at the forefront of major changes within the school with substantial investment in ICT facilities.
Departmental rooms/resources
The department has a newly installed 22 station network
with interactive whiteboard, laptop, digital camera, scanner, projector, web cam and printers. The school also has a cluster of mini-suites throughout the various subject departments to further enhance ICT facilities.
Key Stage 3
All students have one lesson per week of ICT in Years 8, 9 and 10. The course is based on the new Revised Curriculum ICT Strategy for Key Stage 3.
Key Stage 4
Students in Years 11 and 12 have the option of studying
GCSE Business and Communication Systems and OCR examinations.
Computer Club
The department runs a Computer Club on two days a week. It also offers flexible arrangements for pupils who have ICT tasks or GCSE coursework to complete.
