Geography is taught at Aughnacloy
College by two teachers, Mr Hall and
Mrs Brady.
Geography at Key Stage 3 follows the
Northern Ireland Revised Curriculum.
Year 8 Geography is an introductory
year, with topics covered including
Map skills, the weather, and a study of
Northern Ireland and a study of food
and its origins.
Year 9 Geography begins with a detailed study of rivers, and then looks at world population, major world cities and world energy demands.
Year 10 Geography studies our changing world, water as a valuable resource, oceans and threatened ecosystems.
Pupils choosing GCSE Geography will
study the CCEA examination board
syllabus. As an integral part of the
GCSE course, a field visit is undertaken
to Derrygonnelly, in Co Fermanagh to
undertake a river study.
