French

The French Department in Aughnacloy College follows the Northern Ireland Revised Curriculum.  Most pupils in Years 8, 9 and 10 study French, learning the skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing through a range of activities.

The main topics studied at Key Stage 3 relate to Personal Information, Family Life, School, Hobbies, Home and the Local Environment, Travel, Future Plans and Healthy Living.

Those pupils who choose to study French at Key Stage 4 Level follow the AQA syllabus.

The school has been visited by a French Theatre group and employs a French Assistant to give weekly conversation classes to those pupils preparing for GCSE.
